Trulia and Zillow Could Compromise Your Home Search

Today I am going to be speaking about Trulia and Zillow and how they might compromise your home search. Although these resources are convenient and easy to use, I would not place much trust in online real estate services.

A lot of people in the East Bay are using these websites to find homes, but the major problem is that these lists are very outdated. If a listing comes up that actually sold 6 months ago, then that's a problem. Also, some of the details they list are incorrect, such as the size of homes and the square footage of lots.

You should also be wary of using home evaluations or home value estimators. Homes in the East Bay are often undervalued or overvalued by at least 20-30%, but some experts claim that online value estimators can be as much as 90% incorrect.
What I would urge you to do is simply refer to a professional real estate agent in your local area. I have access to accurate MLS listings and can give you accurate and updated information about what is happening with East Bay real estate.
